Who We Are
Our founder has spent the last 12 years as an Executive Director in Southern California, running assisted living communities specializing in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of operations, which include the oversight of implementing a healthy and positive culture, staffing and maintaining the departments of care, dining, activities, maintenance, housekeeping, business office and sales. This background and experience is important and helpful in helping you find the right option.
What We Do
Assessment
Our comprehensive assessment of you or your loved one allows our team to find the best senior care options for you. We navigate families through this process to assist with choosing the best senior living community to meet your needs, including budget, location and care options.
Search
Vineyard Seniors does all the work from start to finish. Our advisors narrow down the search of all options, schedule tours around your schedule, and physically tour the senior living communities with you and your family to ensure that you are able to make the right choice.
Placement
Once you have made your choice, we will assist you with everything necessary to make the move to your new community. We can recommend local movers and organizers to help make the move a smooth one.
Living Options
Assisted Living
A large or small senior living facility that provides a community feel and promotes a social environment. Apartments to choose from include Studios, 1BR or 2 BR configurations. Meals, activities, laundry, maintenance, housekeeping and local transportation are all included with the rent. Care related to activities of daily living can be provided at the community and built into the care plan provided by the community.
Independent Living
Generally a larger community that provides independent residents with a social environment. Meal plans, activities, housekeeping, local transportation and maintenance are all available. The difference between Independent Living and Assisted Living is that care is provided by the Assisted Living community.
Memory Care
A community or area within an assisted living community that is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for those diagnosed with dementia. They have delayed ingress and egress doors and staff dedicated to serving residents with dementia. Many communities include care costs included within their rental rate.
Board and Care
Board and Care homes are licensed for 6 residents and provide meals, activities, housekeeping and laundry. They typically include care costs built into the monthly rent. These types of communities can be cost-effective for residents with high care needs; for residents that would benefit from a caregiver being located within a short distance from the resident; or residents that are not socially interactive. Board and Care homes account for the majority of assisted living units contained within the state of CA.
Respite Care
Many larger communities offer a respite stay for residents. This is generally for a 30 day+/- stay and can be used as additional support and recuperation for the resident.
Hospice
Hospice is a term that is generally associated with end of life services. This is not necessarily the case and is widely misunderstood. Hospice care can be for end of life, but it can also be used as additional support for the resident/patient. There are requirements that must be met, but residents/patients can go on and off hospice, based upon their improvement. Hospice can be a great partner with helping a resident thrive!
Questions?
Can’t I just find a community on my own?
Many times families will get a referral from someone they know or do a Google search for communities. We take the time to learn about you or your loved one and match your needs with the right community that fits you and your budget. We know the options already. Our services are free to you.
What is the difference between some of the other senior referral options?
If you do a Google search, one of your first results will be one of the larger referral agencies that provide you with a list of places to check out on your own. We set up the appointment and accompany you to help you with your decision.
What does your service cost me?
Our fee for services are a referral fee paid by the community that you end up choosing. You pay no costs for our services and there is no up-charge by the community.
How do I know what to look for?
We help guide you in that process. We ask questions and learn about your needs, wants and desires and help match those to the right community.
What are the costs associated with living in a community and what is the lease term?
Many communities will quote a rental rate for the apartment and will charge separately for any care needed, based upon their assessment of the resident. In addition, expect to pay a one-time community fee. Typical lease terms are month to month, with a 30-day notice required to vacate.
